Guyana...A wonderful place to visit. It has exotic animals and you can explore many beautiful places, such as Kaieteur Falls, Kanuku Mountains, Essequibo River, Rupununi Savannah and Georgetown. Georgetown is Guyana's capital. Although Guyana's animals are abundant, there are still endangered species. The most highly endangered species is the harpy eagle. The harpy eagle is very unique. It is the largest and strongest owl in the whole world! Adult harpy eagles can grow up to 3.5 feet long and can weigh up to 20 pounds. Their wingspan can go up to 6.5 feet! That's longer than an average human size!
How can we save our magnificent animals? The main reason the harpy eagles are endangered is because people hunt them for it's meat and for it's feathers for clothing. It effects the whole world because it messes up the food chain around the world. The rat population can go up because harpy eagles hunt rats and other animals and if the harpy eagle's population goes down the food chain gets messed up. That is why people should step up and try to help the animals in danger of becoming extinct.
